Dermatology that looks
at the whole picture.
Board-certified dermatologist with advanced training in integrative dermatology, providing expert medical care for adults with chronic skin conditions through a whole-person approach that considers the broader health and lifestyle factors that may influence chronic skin disease.
What is Lifestyle &
Integrative Dermatology?
Conventional dermatology provides highly effective treatments to diagnose and manage skin disease. Integrative and lifestyle dermatology builds on that foundation by also exploring lifestyle, metabolic, immune, and environmental factors that may influence inflammation, treatment response, and long-term skin health.
That means looking beyond the skin when it may be relevant — including nutrition, sleep, stress, physical activity, gut health, and other aspects of your overall health.
These conversations take time. That's why every new patient visit is a dedicated 60-minute consultation, allowing us to understand your skin condition, medical history, lifestyle, and goals before creating a personalized, evidence-based treatment plan.
Because lasting skin health often begins by looking at the whole picture.

an Integrative Approach
I'm a board-certified dermatologist, and I believe our skin doesn't exist in isolation — it's deeply connected to our overall health and lifestyle, particularly when it comes to chronic skin disease.
I completed my dermatology residency at the University of Chicago, where I served as chief resident, and went on to spend years in both academic and private practice, including teaching residents and medical students at Georgetown/MedStar.
Over more than a decade of practice, I began to notice that many patients with chronic skin disease wanted more than an effective prescription. They wanted to understand how their nutrition, sleep, stress, lifestyle, and overall health might be influencing their skin. Those conversations rarely fit into a traditional office visit.
That realization led me to pursue advanced training in integrative and lifestyle approaches to dermatology and to complete the Integrative Dermatology Certificate Program. Over time, it transformed the way I wanted to care for patients — with more time to understand the whole person, not just the skin — and ultimately inspired me to create Skin Harmony MD.
Today, I combine evidence-based dermatology with lifestyle medicine and evidence-informed complementary approaches, allowing me to address both the skin condition itself and the broader factors that may be contributing to it. My goal is to create personalized treatment plans that reflect each patient's unique health, goals, and values.

Every patient is different. We don't assume all of these factors are relevant for everyone, but by taking the time to explore them thoughtfully, we can develop a more personalized, evidence-based approach to your care.

Understanding both the skin disease and the person behind it leads to more thoughtful care."

The Foundations Program is a structured 6-month program that begins after your initial consultation and includes 4 follow-up visits, a personalized integrative treatment plan, and condition-specific education and resources between visits. It is designed for patients who want more consistent support and time to explore the medical, lifestyle, and health factors that may be relevant to their skin condition.
Yes. I am a board-certified dermatologist, and prescription treatment remains an important part of care when clinically appropriate. This may include topical medications, oral medications, and compounded prescriptions.
My approach combines evidence-based medical dermatology with integrative and lifestyle medicine. It is not one instead of the other.
I treat a range of chronic skin conditions, including psoriasis, eczema (atopic dermatitis), rosacea, hidradenitis suppurativa, acne, vitiligo, and other chronic inflammatory or immune-mediated conditions.
You can view the full list of conditions we treat here. If you're unsure whether your condition is a good fit for the practice, book a Discovery Call and we can help determine whether Skin Harmony MD is the right fit for your needs.
Not necessarily. Some patients work with me alongside their existing dermatologist, particularly when they are looking for more time to explore lifestyle and health factors in addition to their current medical care.
We can discuss what makes the most sense for your individual situation.
Skin Harmony MD is not designed for routine mole checks, full-body skin exams, or skin cancer screening. If you have a new, changing, or concerning lesion, an in-person dermatology evaluation is usually the most appropriate next step.
If something concerning comes up during your care, I can recommend appropriate in-person follow-up.
No. Skin Harmony MD is a virtual practice and does not perform full-body skin cancer screenings, biopsies, surgery, or other in-person procedures.
If something comes up during your care that requires an in-person examination or procedure, I will recommend appropriate in-person dermatologic evaluation.
All visits are conducted virtually through a secure telehealth platform. I can see adult patients who are physically located in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC at the time of their appointment.
Prescriptions are sent electronically to the appropriate pharmacy. Depending on what is prescribed, this may include your local pharmacy, a specialty pharmacy, or a compounding pharmacy.
When laboratory testing is clinically appropriate, I can help you determine which tests are needed and discuss available options. Some testing may be ordered through cash-pay laboratory platforms with transparent pricing. If you prefer to use your insurance benefits for laboratory testing, you may need to have the testing ordered through an in-network clinician, such as your primary care physician.
Skin Harmony MD does not routinely manage insurance prior authorizations directly. When necessary, we may work with third-party services on a case-by-case basis.
Whenever possible, we also look for practical ways to make medications more accessible, including lower-cost pharmacies, compounding pharmacies, manufacturer programs, or prescription discount programs such as GoodRx.
Biologic medications may be considered on a case-by-case basis when they are medically appropriate. Because these medications often require insurance authorization and ongoing monitoring, we will discuss whether prescribing and managing the medication through Skin Harmony MD is appropriate for your individual situation.
At this time, Skin Harmony MD does not prescribe isotretinoin (Accutane).
We understand that things come up. Appointments must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 48 hours in advance.
A $100 late-cancellation or no-show fee applies to appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice or missed entirely. A valid credit card is kept on file for all patients.
After completing the 6-month Foundations Program, you may continue care on a per-visit basis as needed.
Some patients choose periodic follow-up visits to maintain their progress, while others feel comfortable managing more independently with the treatment plan, education, and tools they have gained.
No. The Founding Member rate of $200 per month is available to the first 10 patients who enroll in the Foundations Program and applies for that initial 6-month program only.
It does not apply to future program enrollments or renewals after the initial 6-month period.
